Administration's Message

To All Students, Parents, and Community of Palo Verde Middle School,

It is our pleasure to welcome all to the 2016-17 school year. As a staff last year, we embarked upon a journey to excellence where we have grown students both academically and behaviorally. While we have celebrated the gains the students have made at Palo Verde, our focus will continue to be providing the most effective teaching and learning environment to support your students and community.

You will continue hearing us talk about high learning expectations for your child with a focus to be college bound, career, and citizenship ready for their future. We will need your support at home to continue on with this trend that has been embedded at Palo Verde Middle School. We truly see our parents as partners, so this support can come in many forms. It can simply be words of encouragement and attending the several events that we have on campus. We encourage communication with our teachers either through phone, e-mail, or notes in the daily agenda that every student will carry and use on a daily basis. Your support is valuable for us to continue to build our “Panther Pride”.

The most important thing we can teach a child is how to be a productive member of society. In the middle school, it is so important to “teach the whole child”. While all of the content areas are extremely important, so are the extra-curricular activities. Whether it be athletics, music, art, or clubs, all students in the middle should be given every opportunity to be a part of something more than what the regular school day offers. At this age, students begin thinking truly about what they want to be when they grow up. Providing multiple opportunities for the students in the middle school opens up doors of opportunity. Giving students these opportunities is a start for them… a chance for them to dream big where the possibilities are endless. We encourage all students to become involved in any of our sports and/or clubs that we offer at Palo Verde Middle School. As a staff, we are strong believers that we can and will educate every child, every day, and in every given opportunity. It is our personal goal that we inspire our students and instill a sense of purpose so they can continue to positively impact the surrounding community.

We will send out a monthly newsletter every first Wednesday of each month. The same newsletter will be posted on our school website at Any other pertinent information can be found on our school website or through our “Wednesday flyers”. We also will continue to use our call out system. If you have not already received one of these, please contact our front office (602.347.2500) to ensure we have your correct contact information. Please check out and like our Facebook page where we will keep our students, parents, and community updated with pictures! We look forward to a fabulous school year! Thanks for partnering with us to ensure each and every Panther is successful!

Most sincerely,
Mrs. Jill Sarraino, Principal
